Kevin Smith is a founding member on the Kewanee Sports League. He has the best regular season record and is tied for having the most divisional wins. Kevin also is the first owner to reach 60 wins in the regular season and has over 70 wins including playoff wins. Kevin has never had a losing season in the history of KSL.

2002-2004 - Beginning Years

Kevin was a founding member of KSL and he quickly became one of the best players in the 2002 season. Kevin had the best record and won the division. He beat Frail in the first round of the playoffs but he lost to Brian for the first ever KSL Championship.

In 2003 KSL moved to a points system and Kevin still kept up with the point leader Frail. Kevin ended up finishing 3rd that year but was known a force for the league.

2004 was another year for the point system. Kevin jumped out in the beginning and was the point leader for the first 2 weeks. Kevin stayed in a tight race for first until Dave Pate took over and won. Kevin ended up second place for that year.

2005-2008 - Playoff Bound

In 2005 KSL switched back to a head to head system. Kevin won 6 of his first 8 games but lost 5 of his next 6 to finish 7-7. This record was good enough to give him the division. Kevin lost the first round to Andrew.

2006 had a similar feel to 2005. Kevin won 5 of his first 7 but dropped 4 of his next 5. Kevin ended that year 7-7 again. In the first round Kevin fell victim to Aaron who eventually won the championship.

Kevin won his first 3 games of 2007. He exchanged wins the rest of the year to finish 7-6 that year. Kevin lost the first round to Blake Clayton.

For 2008, KSL moved to MFL from Yahoo. Kevin started the year exchanging wins and losses until he won 3 of his last 4 games. Kevin lost the first round to Ty Palmer.

Kevin had a winning record for the past 4 years and made it to the playoffs but was unable to secure a playoff win. Kevin lost the first round every year.

2009-2011 - Continued Success

Kevin had a great year in 2009. He won 4 of his first 5 games and finished the year with a 6 game winning streak. Kevin finished the year 10-2 to win his division and secure his 3rd Divisional Title and a First Round BYE. Kevin was able to beat Dave Pate in the next round but was bested by Ty Palmer who ended up winning it all that year.

Kevin had a rough start for 2010. He lost 4 of his first 5 matches but Kevin was able to win 6 of his next 8 to end the year at 7-6. This secured him the 8th seed in the playoffs but he fell victim to Ty Boardman the first week in the playoffs.

At the end of 2011, Kevin had the most points for any team in KSL. The next closest team was Joe Snider with 200 less. Having the most points didn't help Kevin much for the regular season. He did win 4 of his first 5 but he dropped 4 of his next 6. Kevin went on to face Aaron Hughes the first round of the playoffs. This was similar to the 2006 season where Kevin lost to Aaron in the first round.

Kevin has made the playoffs every year he has been in KSL but has only made it past the first round twice. Once in 2002 and again in 2009. He has been bounced every year in the first round other than those two seasons.

2012 and Beyond

Kevin started off 2012 by being one of the top teams in KSL. He started off the season 6-2 and had wins over big name teams like Dave Nanninga and Dave Pate. He was also able to extend his streak over Andy by 2 more games. However, Kevin's season took a turn for the worse. He lost a game to Jon Occhi who wasn't playing his team and Kevin finished the year with 3 straight losses and was blown out by Dave Pate in the playoffs. Despite having a winning record, Kevin was disappointed by his teams performance at the end of the year.

Kevin is hoping to continue his winning season streak and finally make it past the first round of the playoffs.
