The 2013 season saw many rule changes go in to effect from the off season. Most notable was the limit on trades and in particular draft pick trades and lowering of Defensive Points. We also saw the first random drawing of the divisions. 2013 also saw the introduction of Erik VanHyfte as the newest member to the KSL family.

Week 1-5

For PBnJ many thought Doug would be the clear favorite going in but with a loss Week 1 to Dave Pate, we saw that even the toughest can fall in a bad game. PBnJ saw Doug get back on track and take over the division at 4-1. Andy was right behind him at 3-2 and Ty Boardman was able to over come a 1-2 start to finish 3-2. Meanwhile, Dave Pate fell to 1-4.

Over at LuLz we saw Kevin jump to an early 5-0 lead and the rest of his division fall to below 0.500. Dave Nanninga was at 2-3 and Aaron, Oberg were at the bottom at 1-4. It was a disappointing start for this division.

The 5BBB division had a similar situation where Joe was able to jump up to 5-0 and Brian was able to get off his 0-3 streak and win his next two games. Erik VanHyfte was able to win his first game but lose his next 4 in a row. Meanwhile, Ty Palmer who many thought would finish last in KSL, was able to start off 2-3.

This start was one of the craziest in recent memory. Having Doug lose his first matchup was a surprise as was Snider and Kevin going 5-0. We only had 5 teams at over 0.500 and 4 teams at 1-4.

Week 6-10

PBnJ became Doug's division during this stretch. He went 4-1 during this stretch and was able to finish 8-2 and clinch a playoff spot. Andy went on a slide and lost 3 in a row during that stretch but was able to get a win over Aaron which was his first during their career in KSL. Boardman was able to get some good wins and finish 3-2 for that stretch and finish 6-4 overall. Dave Pate has a good start and was 3-4 but fell to 3-7.

The Lulz division saw Nanninga make some head way by winning 3 out of 5 games whereas Kevin only won 2 out of 5. Aaron was also able to win 3 games and be put in a position to contend for the playoffs. Meanwhile Oberg had a rough start and he ended that stretch by losing 9 straight games and fall to 1-9.

Over at 5BBB we saw a roller-coaster of a ride. Joe had lost 4 straight games and finished 6-4. Brian was able to win 6 straight games dating back to week 4 and tie up Joe at 6-4. Erik was able to keep up and win 4 out of 5 and finish 5-5 and put himself in contention for the division. Ty Palmer was also in playoff contention by maintaining a couple wins and finish 4-6.

We saw some massive swings in 5BBB by having Snider losing 4 straight and Brian win 6 straight. Kevin and Doug were able to stay on top of their division but they started getting challenged towards the end.

Week 11-13

During the final stretch in KSL's run to the playoffs, we saw the teams placing second in their division challenge the divisional leaders.

PBnJ saw Doug and Ty Boardman battle in week 12 for the divisional title but Doug was able to overcome Ty's late year surge and take back control of his division and win it. Andy had continued his winning ways and secure the 4th seed in the playoffs by winning 5 straight matchups. Ty Boardman had a great 6-10 but he lost his last two matchups to fall to the 5th overall seed. Dave Pate made a valiant effort by winning his last 3 games but due to tiebreakers, he missed the playoffs by not scoring more points than Brian.
