Brian Schoutteet is the First Ever KSL Champion and founding member of the Kewanee Sports League. Brian has one of the best overall records and had one of the best runs during the 2005-2008 seasons.

2002-2004 - Championship

In 2002, Brian went 7-5 in the season and was able to beat Andy and Kevin to win the inaugural championship of KSL.

For the 2003 Season, KSL moved to a points based system. Brian finished 2nd behind Lance Frail.

In 2004, Brian finished 5th overall. He was close to the top but the top 3 teams were able to pull ahead of the rest of the pack. He was just 60 points above 6th place Aaron Hughes

2005-2008 - Franchise Team

Brian had a tough start to the 2005 season. He went 2-5 in his first 7 games but was able to go on a 6 game winning streak to finish the season in 3rd place with an 8-6 record. However, Brian would lose 3 straight in the playoffs.

In 2006 Brian went 12-2 losing twice to Mike Smith in week 3 and 13. Brian had a 9 game win streak that was a record until 2009. Brian was the #1 seed in the playoffs and much like the 2005 #1 seed, he was knocked out the first round. This time Blake Clayton was the upseter. Brian ended up finishing in 5th place for the playoffs.

2007 was a very polarizing year in KSL. 4 teams finished 5-8 or worse records and 3 teams finished 9-4. Brian started off the year going 4-1 and he continued his dominance to the playoffs. Brian was one of those 3 and had the tie breaker to be considered the #1 seed going into the playoffs. Brian had suffered a similar fate as he did the past 2 years and went out in round one to the future champion Mike Smith. Brian ended up finishing 5th in the playoffs for the second time in a row.

Brian had an impressive start to the 2008 season by going 4-0. Brian started to stutter during the middle of the season and eventually finished 7-5 but lost the tie breaker to Dave Pate. Brian went on to beat Boardman and Dave in the playoffs which was the first time since 2002 that Brian made it past the first round. Brian eventually lost the conference championship to Andy Hughes. Brian had made some great progress this year.

Brian finished those 4 seasons going 36-17 which is a KSL record.

2009-2011 - Fall from Favor

In 2009, Brian had a rough season by going 2-4 in his first 6 games and finishing 2-4 in his last. A win in his final game would have put him in the playoffs but he was unable to beat Boardman.

For 2010 Brian had an average start by going 3-2. Unfortunately, Brian lost 6 of his next 7 to get knocked out of the playoffs.

In 2011 Brian was put into a very winable division alongside Dave Pate, Mike Smith and Ty Palmer. Brian won 3 of his first 4 and was tied for the 1st place in his division. However, Brian lost 6 of his next 7 and was unable to get back on track to make the playoffs.

2012 and beyond

Brian is looking to make a big splash in this years draft and hoping to make the playoffs again after a 3 year drought.
