The Illinois Dynasty Football League is an off shoot of KSL. None of the records held in IDFL are used in the KSL record books.

Bylaws

IDFL Bylaws are similar to KSL's bylaws but there are some subtle differences. Anything not covered in here can be found in KSL Bylaws unless expressly spelled out by the commissioner

Draft

The initial draft was setup with each owner having $200 to spend on players. The draft order was chosen at random by Yahoo but the subsequent years, it is determined by where the teams placed in the playoffs. If you win the league, you get to nominate the first player up for grabs.

Season

IDFL Season is 16 weeks long. There are 2 divisions of 6 teams and you play each person in your division twice and 3 random people from the other division. Playoff seeding is set up much like the NFL. 6 teams make it in the playoffs with the divisional winners getting a first round bye. There will be playoff reseeding to accommodate for the top seed to play the lowest seeded team.

Dynasty

The rules of IDFL's Dynasty are as follows. Each Owner will have a budget of $200 to spend on their players for the draft. Players off the waivers will be picked up using a continual rolling list.

At the start of the next season, every player will receive a 10% cost increase, rounding up. If you had a player that cost you $60, then they will cost you $66 the following year and $73 the year after. The 10% increase will be the same for Def and Kickers. So if you get your Kicker for $1, they will increase by $1 every year. There is an exception to the rule with skill position players (QB/RB/WR/TE). If the position player is under $10, then the following year, they will be increased to $10. Therefor, if you have a QB that only cost you $5 the first year, they will cost you $10 the next and will go up from there. (eg. $11, $13, $15..)

As for players you picked up throughout the season, they will cost the amount at the time of the draft. Lets say you picked up a backup QB that turns out to be a starting QB the following year. If you choose to keep that player, they will cost the amount that is given to them by Yahoo when you choose to keep them. If they cost $15 for 2016, then they will be $15 for you and will increase every year you choose to keep them.

If someone is dropped and picked back up by the same owner, then they can keep the player at what they paid for him but if someone else picks them up, then they will be whatever Yahoo says they are for the following season. This way you can't drop a player and pick them back up to get around the rules.

If a owner leaves, then their team is locked and we have a new owner take over that team. It can happen part way through the season or at the end. Much like in the NFL, the owners may not have the best team so they will have to help turn the season/dynasty around.

Trades

Trades are more strategic now than ever before. If you receive a player from another team, that player will be at the cost of the original draft amount with the increases going through for the next years. For example, if you get a player for $1 and trade him for an expensive player, the $1 player will increase to $10 the following year and keep increasing as per the bylaws. If Marcus Mariota ($1) is traded for Jamal Charles ($57), then the following year it may be dificult to keep Charles at the 10% increase whereas Mariota may be much easier.

Expansions

If IDFL ever expands, we will have every owner take 2 of their position players and have them up for grabs or the incoming (2) teams. If a team does not take the players offered, then the teams can choose to take back those players at the normal amount they purchased them for. Incoming teams may not want to take any players and instead keep their budget so they can use it all for the draft.
