2016

KSL 2015 was a continuation of 2014 with very minor rule changes and no Owners leaving the group. The biggest change that did happen was the second drawing of names to switch up the divisions. Andy and Dave Nanninga recorded an episode of KSL and pulled names and divisions out of a hat. PBnJ became inhabited by Dave Pate, Dave Nanninga, Jon Oberg and Kevin Smith. LuLz became the playground for Aaron Hughes, Andy Hughes, Ty Boardman and Ty Palmer. 5BBB saw Brian Schoutteet, Doug Hahn, Joe Snider and Erik VanHyfte do battle.

The divisions stay the same way for 2 years before we draw names and switch them up even more.

Weeks 1-5

PBnJ saw Dave Nanninga jump to an early lead by winning 5 straight games. Dave Pate was able to get 3 games and close the lead set by Dave N but he did lose a key game against him in Week 2. Oberg and Kevin were able to get 2 wins a piece and keep up with Dave Pate.

Lulz had some tough losses including Week 4 and 5 were no one in the division won a game. This tied Aaron and Ty Boardman at 2-3 and Andy, Ty Palmer were close at 1-4. Lulz was very wide open due to this divisions tough couple of weeks.

5BBB had Doug Hahn jump to 1st by winning 5 straight. Brian and Erik were keeping up with him at 3 wins a piece. Joe was able to get a lucky win over Erik to stop him from getting his fourth win and it gave Joe his first win and stop his losing streak. Brian and Erik had the closest game in KSL History so far with Brian winning by 0.05 Points in Week 1.

Weeks 6-10

Dave N was able to continue his winning ways over at PBnJ but his week 10 matchup against Ty Boardman was a tough one and Ty was able to hand Dave his first loss of the season. Dave Pate, Oberg and Kevin all received two wins during this stretch but were far behind Dave N in the division.

Aaron and Andrew were able to get 4 wins during this stretch and it plotted them against each other for the division the following week. Ty B was only able to get 2 wins but he kept pace with Aaron and Andy and wasn't far behind. Meanwhile, Ty Palmer was only able to get 1 win and because of his bad luck the first 5 games, he was well in last place of the division.

Doug was cooled off during this time and only got 3 wins. Meanwhile Brian won 4 straight and was 1 game away from winning the division. This made 5BBB very competitive the final few weeks and Doug had to play hard to continue his control. Erik had a tough string of losses but was able to get 2 more wins. Meanwhile, Joe did not win one game during this stretch.

Weeks 11-13

Nanninga was able to secure the PBnJ divisional title with his wins during this time.

Aaron and Andy faced each other Week 11 and the winner would be in the drivers seat for the divisional title. Aaron was able to defeat Andy for a second time that year and secure the division. Meanwhile, Ty Boardman was able to get two big divisional wins and secure himself a playoff spot. Unfortunately, Ty Palmer lost so many games that he was out of the playoffs for 2015

Doug lost his week 11 matchup against Dave Nanninga which opened the door for Brian to take control of the division but Brian fell victim to Oberg and the two were gridlocked yet again. For Week 12 Brian had an easy matchup but lost and Doug was able to capitalize and win the division and earn the #2 seed in the playoffs. Meanwhile, Erik lost another close matchup week 11 but was able to win week 12 to secure a playoff spot. Joe had lost so many games that his 2 straight wins were in vein.

Playoffs

We had the top seeded Dave Nanninga take on Ty Boardman in a rematch where Ty gave Dave his only loss. Early on Sunday Ty came out swinging and was able to get a commanding lead over Dave and defeat him again that season. In 2nd place we had Doug Hahn against Andy Hughes. This game was very even early on but at the end of Monday night Doug was able to get a win over Andy. The last divisional winner was Aaron who took on long time playoff rival Dave Pate. Dave has a winning record against Aaron in the playoffs and Aaron was hoping to narrow that lead with a big win here. Dave had other plans and earned a big win over Aaron and moved on to the second round of the playoffs. In the top wild card spot we saw Brian take on Erik for the third time that season. Brian and Erik were very even heading into the 4th quarter of Monday night but Brian's combo of Eli and Beckham were able to top Erik's combo of Big Ben and Brown. This was Brian's first time to the second round since 2008.

In the second round of the playoffs we had Brian taking on Dave and Doug taking on Ty Boardman. Dave and Brian had 3 championships between the 2 of them whereas Ty and Doug had 4 Championship appearances but no championship wins. Doug was able to defeat Ty and Dave took down Brian. This was Doug's 2nd appearance in 3 years and Dave's 3rd appearance in 4. These were also the last two runners up for the Championship the last two years.

Doug and Dave Pate were set for an epic showdown. Dave had players playing Thursday night that exceeded their projected points and put Dave ahead in their matchup. When the Sunday games started, Doug was able to makeup some ground and make the game very close. However, when the Sunday night games finished, Doug had a clear lead on Dave going into Monday. Dave's players were unable to make up the difference and Doug was finally able to win and be crowned KSL Champion.

2015 had some minor changes to our scoring to balance it out even more.
